Nightmares Come True – Can You Escape?
Fire and Darkness – When Nightmares Come True
Some stories are hard to believe, yet they happen nonetheless.
The last thing Ethan Carter remembered was fire. Flames consumed his home in the dead of night, smoke filled his lungs, and just before everything went dark, he thought, Am I going to die?
When he opened his eyes, he wasn’t in a hospital bed. There were no firefighters around him. Instead, he found himself on an old, worn-out bus, the air thick with dust and mold. Is this a dream or a nightmare?
Looking around, he saw other passengers—pale faces with hollow eyes, as if they already knew their fate. Beside him sat a young woman, strikingly beautiful, but her face was filled with terror.
He turned to her and asked cautiously,
“Are you okay?”
She slowly shook her head and whispered,
“I don’t know where we are… or how I got here. I’m scared. Help me.”
Her voice was trembling.
Emma Wilson.
The Mysterious Driver & The Vanishing Names – When Nightmares Come True
Ethan tried to make sense of the situation, but his thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the driver—or rather, the conductor. He was a tall young man, unfamiliar, with an unsettling gaze. His voice was deep and raspy, as if it belonged to someone who didn’t belong in this world.
"Andrew Wilkinson!"
A young man in his twenties, sitting at the back, flinched at the sound of his name. He looked around in confusion, then stood up unsteadily. His body trembled as if his bones were trying to escape from within him.
As he passed Ethan, he grabbed his arm and pleaded desperately,
"Don't let them take me! Please, don’t let them take me!"
But there was no escape.
The bus door creaked open, and the driver pushed Andrew outside. The bus had stopped in front of an old, decaying house with dead trees looming over it. Andrew screamed, begged, but no one moved to help.
The door slammed shut, and the bus drove on.
The Road to the Abyss – A Living Nightmare
Emma had tears in her eyes.
"This isn’t the first… and it won’t be the last."
Time passed at an agonizing pace. The bus seemed to be moving through another dimension, outside of time. The passengers sat in eerie silence, each knowing their name could be called next.
Then, it happened again.
"Charlie Stewart!"
A boy no older than ten began to shake, his eyes filling with tears. Ethan grabbed his arm and shouted at the driver,
"You’re not taking him!"
The driver smiled coldly.
"If you had the power, you’d use it for yourself… because your turn is coming."
A force—strong and invisible—shoved Ethan back into his seat. The boy screamed, begged, but no one moved. The doors opened. The boy was taken. The bus rolled forward.
Now, only Ethan and Emma remained.
Then, the driver spoke the final name.
"Ethan Carter!"
A Truth He Wasn’t Ready For – When Nightmares Come True
Emma clutched his hand, her tears falling freely.
"Don't go! Don’t leave me!"
Ethan met her gaze, his voice steady despite the fear gripping him.
"If I make it out alive… I’ll come back for you."
Then, he was pulled out of the bus.
This time, there was no house. No street. Only darkness… an endless abyss.
…And then he woke up.
Ethan was lying in a hospital bed, tubes connected to his body, machines beeping steadily. His family surrounded him, crying tears of joy.
“He’s awake! It’s a miracle!”
The nurses told him he had been in a coma for two months after falling from a balcony during the fire.
But Ethan wasn’t convinced it was just a dream.
Two days later, he asked the nurse about the names.
"Andrew Wilkinson… Charlie Stewart… were they here?"
She frowned.
"How do you know that?"
"Were they in comas?"
"Yes… but they never woke up."
A cold shiver ran down his spine. Ignoring the dizziness, he got up and asked the doctor,
"What about Emma Wilson? Is she here?"
The doctor hesitated before answering,
"Yes… but she’s been in a coma for six months."
Ethan rushed to her room, sat beside her, and held her hand.
He whispered,
"If I make it out alive… I’ll come back for you."
Then he gently squeezed her fingers, hoping she would return before it was too late.
A Call from the Other Side – A Nightmare That Won’t End
A week passed. Then another. Emma remained unconscious.
Ethan never left the hospital. Every day, he sat beside her, watching her pale face, remembering the last time he had seen her on that cursed bus. Even in her sleep, fear lingered in her expression.
His nightmares worsened. Every night, he found himself back on that bus, seated beside Emma, watching as new names were called, new souls taken. He tried to scream, to move, but he was powerless.
Then, one night, something changed.
He wasn’t on the bus anymore.
He was outside, standing before the same house where Andrew Wilkinson had been left. The door was open, and the darkness inside moved as if alive, swirling like heavy smoke.
Then, a whisper.
"Ethan..."
A weak, barely audible voice—but one he recognized instantly.
Emma.
He ran toward the house, but just as he reached the door, another voice spoke.
The driver’s voice.
"You left the bus… but you haven’t left the road."
Ethan woke up, gasping for breath, his body drenched in sweat. His heart pounded, but the most terrifying thing was the overwhelming sense of dread.
That morning, he entered Emma’s hospital room as usual, but something felt… wrong. The air was heavier, the scent in the room oddly different, like something ancient lingering.
He approached her bed, took her hand—then froze.
Her fingers… moved.
At first, it was barely noticeable. Then, slowly, Emma squeezed his hand.
A whisper escaped her lips.
"Ethan..."
But her eyes… remained closed.
And at that moment, Ethan knew—Emma was not fully back.
Some part of her was still trapped.
Trapped in a nightmare that refused to end.
